Grafton Notch queen quilt

The world looks small from the top of Grafton Notch in Maine. After hiking our way to the top, some friends and I whiled away a lazy afternoon last autumn resting on giant granite boulders flecked with lichen, watching cars buzz by so small that they looked like they should be in a tilt-shift video.

This quilt reminds me of that afternoon. It's assembled from a deconstructed cow-print duvet cover found a thrift store. I chopped it up into roughly 6,500 small squares and patched it all back together, creating a texture that is almost mineral and geologic. The moss-green binding was inspired by the lichen.

At approximately 80" x 90", this quilt is perfect for a queen or double bed.
