It all starts with the fabrics. I try to get out of their way and let them inform the process and design as much as possible. Color palettes come together, shapes emerge, and as the artist, I watch what’s happening. I love what Anne Truitt says about what she’s looking for her work— the “just noticeable difference”. No two things are exactly alike. To perceive these details takes time and quiet. It’s that just noticeable difference that brings me a deep satisfaction in my work.
