Here are a few things I thought might support you on your way to making your next quilt!

Why write about quilts?

I clarified my intention for many of my quilts through the act of writing. For the EMBER quilt, for example, I had two starting points: color and concept. Colorwise, I found myself one day with too much red in my stash and decided the next quilt would have to be red. With that in mind, and knowing this was going to be part of the NEW APOCALYPSE collection, I did some free-writing to clarify my personal associations with the future and the color red. You can see how my thoughts evolved as I wrote in this snapshot from my journal.
